Ciro Pellegrino is a lawyer with extensive experience in corporate criminal law and is Head of the Firm's Criminal Law Department. Together with his team, he assists Italian and foreign clients, serving as a point of reference in judicial and extrajudicial matters at national and international level. He assists entrepreneurs, managers and Italian and foreign companies involved in complex, high-profile criminal proceedings attracting significant media attention, relating to offences connected with business activities, including corruption and other offences against the Public Administration, money laundering, corporate, banking and financial, tax and bankruptcy offences, as well as offences relating to occupational health and safety, the environment and cybercrime.
He supports companies in the preventive management of criminal risk, providing strategic advice on compliance and organisational models. He conducts defensive investigations, including preventive investigations, pursuant to the Code of Criminal Procedure, and carries out internal investigations in accordance with the international standard ISO 37008:2023 and best industry practices, working in synergy with corporate governance and control bodies.
He also has more than twenty years of experience in the field of sports-related offences, assisting international federations and athletes in proceedings concerning betting and doping before the main national and international sports jurisdictions, including the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, the Independent International Tribunal appointed by the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals), the Independent International Tribunal appointed by the ITF (International Tennis Federation) and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
He founded one of Italy's most highly regarded boutique firms specialising in corporate criminal law and, in 2026, following a long-standing collaboration, his firm integrated with Gianni & Origoni.
He is a lecturer at the University of Tuscia and the LUISS Guido Carli School of Management, where he teaches Defensive, Private and Privacy Investigations Law and the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Money Laundering Class, respectively. He has also taught at the Carabinieri Officers School in Rome, LUMSA University and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
He chairs numerous Supervisory Bodies pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001 of leading companies in the Italian and international business landscape and has served as a member of the Ministerial Commission for the Study of Corporate Criminal Liability (Legislative Decree 231/2001) and the Ministerial Commission for the Study of Economic and Tax Offences. He has served on arbitration bodies at CONSOB as an expert of the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber and as President of a panel within CONI's highest sports justice body, as well as President of a Subcommittee for the Bar Examination at the Court of Appeal of Rome.
He is admitted to the Rome Bar and is qualified to appear before the Court of Cassation and other higher courts.
He speaks Italian and English.
